Materials Needed:
- Computers and internet access.
Standards:
- -Students use technology to locate, evaluate, and collect information from a variety of sources.
- -Students evaluate and select new information resources and technological innovations based on the appropriateness for specific tasks.
- -Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity.
- -Students use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences.
- - Students analyze the geographic, religious, and cultures of the major world religions.
Teacher Process:
- The following are some suggestions and tips. . .
1. Before you have your students begin their WebQuest, you should take the first class session to introduce the Quest to your students and walk them through the process. Included in the "process" section for the students is a tutorial on how to use PowerPoint and Prezi. It would be helpful for you to go through this tutorial whole class prior the activity. Later, if students/groups need to refer back to it, they may as needed.
2. You will allow students to work individually or you will need to divide your class into heterogenous groups of four students per team.
3. Be sure you have computer access (either laptops or computers in a lab) with Internet access.
4. Use these Helpful forms to assist:
Facts Sheet (at least 12 per team)
Evaluation Rubric (1 per team)
Student Feedback Form(1 per student)
Resources:
- Another topic you may want to discuss when introducing the WebQuest to the students is how to be convincing. You may want to find a website or another source that can clarify persuasive techniques.
Finally, be sure the following WebQuest links are all still functioning: - http://www.religioustolerance.org/var_rel.htm

- Use the rubric to asses the components of the Powerpoint or the Prezi. It is on a 4 point scale.
- Make sure the presentation is well organized, with accurate content, and original.
- The student(s) should portray good presentation and verbal skills.
- Also - make sure they share the google doc with their research in it with you. If it is a group project make sure the students type their research in different colors in the google doc.
Conclusion:
- Congratulate students on their hard work.
- Make sure the students fill out the feedback form to let you know if they enjoyed the webquest and what suggestions they may have to improve it.
- Suggest further inquiry into other world religions.
